The Full Monty

The full monty is a British slang phrase of uncertain origin. It is generally used to mean "everything which is necessary, appropriate, or possible; 'the works'".

Me a little under 338lbs
I don’t have too much to say today.  I’m nervous.  Accountability evokes opinions and judgment from others, often unsolicited and untempered. However on the other hand I am also very excited. Excited to get the show on the road.  I’m hype to get started.  Really, who is pumped about breathing so hard that at times you can feel your heart beat in your throat. How about sweating till you look like you’ve been swimming?  No, no I got one for you, pushing it to the edge of puking! I know, nasty rasty right but I can honestly say bright and loud, ME!! It's not so much as 'the during' that is so great, but the after because usually those events surround having tried a new exercise, running faster, pumping heavier, or repping higher with the common factor being, my trainer Spencer Rakeshaw.  It means I've done something new, I conquered it and that makes me a Bad-ass Beast in my eyes.

Me celebrating 100 lbs down
If you must know, the scale and I are not friends and if it wasn’t for this blog I wouldn’t be entertaining her.  She, yes, she, the scale, is full of drama and today was no different.  Almost if known I was dreading stepping on her, she got skittish.  I swear I must have stepped on it seven different times and gotten seven different answers. So for this purpose, using the skittish scale, I’m going to make an educated guess about how much I weigh and when I get home from vacation, I will get on my other two scales and reignite our love / hate relationship.

Starting today I will start a 7 Day Cleanse and Detox and start drinking a gallon of water per day. My exercise will consist of walking to the bathroom. No, seriously, exercise will consist of light walking for this week so as not to over do it on the detox since I have been out of the mix for a while. I will update My Nutrition and My Exercise pages for quick peeks.

If you are interested in following my progress, my details are posted on my Weigh In page.  The measurements listed are ones that are important to me.  Right now I’m just cutting and pasting from my MFP Check-In page.  If anyone has a better application to use let me know.

I initially started this journey at 338 lbs. I am currently 228 lbs having gained weight since the summer.  My ultimate goal weight is  a strong and lean 165-170 lbs however, I’m not giving myself a deadline.  I have proven that doesn't work for me.  It just stresses me out and causes me to want to eat things I shouldn't and in-turn, GAIN WEIGHT!

It is also important to remember that the main purpose of the Mirror Watching blog for me is consistency via accountability so that I can maintain my successes.

It is my intention to weigh in on Mondays and have it posted prayerfully by 10am.  I’m hoping this keeps me focused over the weekends.  As mentioned before, I will post “What Success Looks like to Me” sometime this week. It is very important to define your own success. It cuts down on a lot of the noise.

So I’ve got my mantra in tact, I’ve posted the digits. There’s nothing left to do but click publish and get out here and turn the juicer on and drink some water.

Shout out to TishB is doing the cleanse with me. Get it girl!

Oh, I forgot to mention that today we are having a family game day.  That means food and goodies.  I’m bringing salad and ice cream.  I’ll be indulging in a Fat Flush Smoothie made with my borrowed blender, which means it will be chunky (and nasty lol).

And Life goes on!
